This course examines the role of a board of directors in an NHS organisation and its accountability for using scarce resources to deliver best value. On completion, you will be able to critically analyse the key decision-making process in relation to the allocation of scarce resources for competing demands and the ways that NHS boards balance competing priorities. You will also be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the ways that NHS boards are held publicly accountable for the holistic performance of their organisation.
