4.1 E-Patient Scenario 2D
The purpose of this e-patient scenario is to enhance your clinical understanding of the thryoid patient. The following clinical scenario relates to a review appointment for a 48 year old patient who is in the active phase of Thyroid Eye Disease (TED). Please work through all sections of the scenario in the order they are presented.
Learning Aims:
- Revise the clinical presentation of TED and the variation within this
- Consider the reasons for orthoptic monitoring of TED patients and the importance of your test results
- Be aware of the indicators of disease progression and the risks to the patient if this occurs
- Explore the current clinical practice guidelines for thyroid related eye problems
