Dr Allan Wade talks about Response-Based Practice in the context of working with victims of violence, in his native country, Canada. Providing many examples, he articulates the difference between mutual and unilateral acts. He demonstrates how violent acts are frequently misrepresented as mutual with the victim often falsely viewed as a passive recipient of violence rather than one who actively resists, but always within the context of their immediate circumstances.
