Childhood trauma; a life perspective from care experienced young people

In this session, Dr Lin Graham-Ray talks about her experiences as a Senior Nurse to looked after children, and in particular her doctoral research into the life perspectives of young people who have grown up in the care system and/or foster care, and their interactions with nurses in this setting.
Through her research and, in particular, interview techniques, she identified a high degree of adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) amongst looked after children and explores the role of the nurse in supporting them through this.
