Understanding the journeys and experience of young people

Oasis Youth Support, based in St Thomas’ Hospital Emergency Department (Waterloo, London), is helping young people to find their way out of knife and gang crime, and other forms of violence.
This session provides an introduction to the work of Oasis Youth Support, the experiences of the young people they encounter in the emergency department and some thoughts on safeguarding and communication in a hospital setting from young people who have presented for treatment following a violent episode and have subsequently been supported by Oasis.
