National preceptorship framework for nursing

To reduce variation and improve the quality of preceptorship, the National Retention Programme established the National Preceptorship for Nursing project in November 2021 to develop and deliver a collectively agreed framework for good practice in implementing preceptorship for newly registered nurses. The core purpose and expected outcome is improved retention for newly registered nurses.
