Launch of the new cohort for the BAMT NQMT Development Scheme

BAMT is thrilled to announce that applications for the new cohort of our Newly Qualified Development Scheme for Music Therapists is now open! This cohort will participate in the scheme from January 2024 to December 2025.

The NQMT Scheme provides a programme which builds on pre-registration training to support Therapists during their first 2 years of practice. It up-skills and nurtures Music Therapists in order to build the best foundations for a successful career. This fully funded programme provides a combination of specialist CPD lectures for the cohort as well as group mentoring, co-ordinated by an experienced Music Therapist. Year 2 of the programme has part-peer led CPD sessions and bi-monthly group mentoring.

Clare Maddocks, Education & Research Officer said: “Following on from our pilot programme, it is fantastic to be able to open up the NQMT Scheme to a new cohort of mentors and Therapists. Transitioning from training into the workplace is such a challenge for many reasons, and I hope that those accessing this scheme will feel they are supported and able to build greater confidence in their skills for the workplace.”
