Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA)
Geriatric assessment is the gold standard to assess an older person’s level of frailty or fitness.
A Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment is a multidisciplinary framework including a group of validated geriatric assessment tools which can be used in conjunction to evaluate factors such as the likelihood that an individual will respond to or tolerate anti-cancer treatment.
The assessment is usually carried out by a trained professional, such as a geriatrician, or a geriatric-trained nurse or AHP. Often the CGA is carried out by more than one profession
