This course aims to support healthcare professionals with the early diagnosis of lung cancer. Key elements of the course include an exploration of examinations including fi­nger clubbing, investigations, lung cancer in non-smokers, genomics and targeted lung health checks.

This course will support you to:

  1. Understand the skills necessary to identify and pick up cues about possibly lung cancer symptoms and facilitate disclosure
  2. Identify and apply specific screening questions to elicit risk of lung cancer
  3. Discuss confi­dently with patients the reasons for referral and the next steps
  4. Be aware of referral pathways, the process for urgent referrals, and safety netting processes
