Nursing in Adult Prison Healthcare Settings Implementation pilot - Leeds Beckett
To provide adult nursing students at Leeds Beckett University with an immersive learning experience set within a prison setting as a pre cursor to a Health and Justice clinical placement.
Students were given a lecture about the custodial environment and a ‘day in the life of a prison nurse' talk which gives insight into the complexities of nursing in this unique environment. The Nursing in Adult Prison Healthcare Virtual Reality (VR) learning was delivered following the session for students interested in experiencing the environment themselves.
