CPD Session Recording: Approaching Generative AI and AI Detection in Assessments 30 January 2025
How effective is AI detection software? NHS England and Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust ran an experiment to see how well commonly used AI detection software detects AI written work under a variety of scenarios. The answer surprised everyone and highlighted how important it is to have a varied practical strategy to address the use of AI in assessments. In the session we will outline the study, and cover:
-
The role of assessments in national context
-
How large language models (LLMs) generate language
-
How detectors identify LLM use
-
The effectiveness of AI detectors
-
Approaches to assessment in an AI enabled world.
