Understand why AKI often missed by health care professionals and patients.
Highlight AKI implications for patients (through patient video) and the NHS.
Promote consistent AKI management by utilising Regional AKI Pathways and Bundles.
2. To recognise aims and limitations of AKI electronic alerts (e-alerts)
Recognise AKI e-alerts aim to raise awareness of AKI and promote early AKI recognition.
Understand why AKI e-alerts should not be relied upon for all AKI diagnosis.
3. To promote good transitional AKI care between Secondary & Primary Care
Promote good quality informative e-discharges (inc. AKI details if this occurred)
Promote continuity of renal and patient care across Secondary & Primary Care.
Promote strategies to limit further AKI in those at risk of AKI.
