This module is designed to familiarise you wth common prescribing problems in Palliative Care.

Learning Objectives

  • To know how to initiate MR and IR opioids
  • To understand how to prescribe transdermal opioids and calculate PRN doses for these prescriptions
  • To practise converting doses of transdermal and oral opioids into syringe driver doses
  • To know how to prescribe opioids for patients with renal impairment, especially at the end of life
