CPD Session Recording: Kicking and Streaming - Leading the Tech-Resistant into Modern Learning
Recording of TEL Network CPD Session "Kicking and Streaming: Leading the Tech-Resistant into Modern Learning" held on 21 May 2025.
View the companion Sway site for supporting content and links from the presentation.
Digital skills and confidence don’t always align—someone might appear “tech-savvy” but still lack confidence, while others may feel bold but struggle with the basics. These mismatches often challenge the stereotypes we hold about digital competence.
Join us to hear what Matthew Crouch from Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Trust uncovered in his recent dissertation:“I don’t do computers” - investigating the lived experience of NHS staff who identify as having low confidence with digital technology. Would game based learning give them a better experience?.
Learn how understanding and leveraging personal digital habits can help us design more engaging and accessible learning experiences.
In this session, we’ll explore:
- The difference between digital literacy and digital confidence
- Strategies for presenting content that reflects the digital tools learners already use in their daily lives
