Princes Trust: Get into Hospital Services @RWT

Not yet rated

The “Get Into Hospital Services” programme with the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust offers 18-30 year olds the opportunity to take part in four weeks of classroom based training and hands on work experience.

In order to give participants the best chance of getting a job after the programme, courses are run in sectors where jobs are most likely to be available such as Health Care Assistant, Catering, Administration, Laboratories and Warehousing.

Training sessions include Communication, Patient Centred Care, Teamwork, Employability and NHS Job and Applications as well as the opportunity to gain an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification. The work experience offers hands on experience of working with a hospital department, working alongside colleagues and supporting patients.

During the programme, participants also benefit from one-to-one support from a Princes Trust Executive to help them think about what they’d like to do after the course finishes.

Following successful completion of the programme, participants are supported by Princes Trust for up to 6 months to ensure they move into a positive outcome and have the opportunity to engage with mentors and access additional funding.

Participants are also offered the opportunity to join the Temporary Staffing Bank should their placement supervisor/manager deem them competent to work in their department or ward.
