Diabetes 10 Point Training - Community Nursing Teams - Core - CDEP

This training supports all staff working as part of a community nursing team have access to basic diabetes training that is relevant to their role. Ruth Miller, Diabetes Nurse Consultant and creator of the Diabetes 10 Point Training series would like to welcome you to this topic.

The aim of this training is to ensure that staff working in the community have a basic understanding of diabetes. The 10 points covered are: Point 1: The Person Point 2: Know the Difference Between the Types of Diabetes Point 3: Glucose and Ketone Monitoring Point 4: Hypoglycaemia (low glucose levels) Point 5: Hyperglycaemia (high glucose levels) Point 6: Insulin and Medication Safely Point 7: Feet Point 8: Eating with Diabetes Point 9: Referring to the GP, Diabetes Care Provider, Mental Health or Podiatry Team Point 10: Ensure Access to Diabetes Care, Information and Review The training will be delivered through a series of short videos, talking you through each of the points, links for further reading and quizzes will reinforce the learning from each section. Receive a certificate, reflection document and CDEP rewards when you finish the training. How long will it take me to complete the training? It may take you about 1 hour to work through the training - although this will differ from person to person. There are extra resources that you might like to download or read online if you want further information. However, you don’t have to complete the training in one go - complete it in "bite-sized" sections as your time allows from a computer, mobile phone or tablet.
