Case Study: Return to Practice for Nursing, Nursing Associates and Midwifery
This case study exploreshow theReturn to Practice Nursing Innovation Partnership addressed the critical need to support qualified nurses returning to practice after a break in their career. The objective was to work with higher education providers to design, develop and deliver a revised blended learning programme incorporating the latest educational technologies to enhance learning outcomes.
Three Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) were commissioned to deliver the new Return to Practice course. The Simulation and Immersive Technologies team provided expert support and advice on the use of education technologies to support nurses returning to practice through higher education.
The team created and delivered four workshops to support the HEIs to design, develop and deliver a revised blended learning curriculum. The workshops built an understanding of how digital education and simulation and immersive technologies can be used to support nurses returning to practice.
