Paediatric sepsis in acute care

This elearning session supports health workers in recognising and managing sepsis in children and young people under 16 in acute hospital settings. It helps learners understand sepsis symptoms and mechanisms identify high-risk groups apply structured assessment using the abcde approach and national paediatric early warning system and initiate early management including sepsis screening and the sepsis six when indicated. Aimed at health professionals working with children in secondary care the session strengthens skills in clinical assessment communication with parents and carers and timely escalation to senior decision makers.
