Certificate available: complete this course to be awarded a certificate
Resource details
The Clinical Trials Pathology Sub-committee (CTPSC) of the Pathological Society of Great Britain and Ireland contributed to an educational session at the Online Teaching and Learning Workshop, December 2025. The presentations raised an awareness of the importance of pathology in clinical trial design, followed by a panel discussion “Barriers and facilitators for meaningful participation of pathologists in a clinical trial and its design”. Based on this, six modules (CTP1-CTP6) were generated for RCPath Pathology Portal, as a starting point for anyone interested in finding out more about clinical trial design, about the role of pathology within clinical trials and about how to get involved.
They are designed to provide a broad overview:
- explore why pathologists are crucial to the success of clinical trials
- understand the importance of pathology content within clinical trial protocols
- explore how resident doctors can get involved with clinical trials during their training
