Mouth care in maternity
During pregnancy and for up to a year after their baby is born, women need additional support and information to help them keep both their mouth and their baby’s mouth healthy.
This guidance document by Maria, has been prepared by one of our senior midwifery practice educators and we are grateful that Maria can share her expertise with us.
The guidance relates to the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods and much of the content is consistent with what we have learned in other aspects of Mouth Care Matters, but it is really useful to have it brought together here, in one learning step, along with other national guidance.
