What is Digital First? 

Digital First is about much more than technology.

Digital First is about people and the services we provide for them. When so many of our services now rely on tools, technology and ways of working that are new to us, how do we continue to deliver the most value possible, as quickly as possible?

The answer is a change in mindset and methods. We need to adapt our culture, practices and processes to meet the raised expectations of our users. Digital First is a long-term behavioural change programme which aims to support NHS service teams in reaching this goal through training; self-managed learning; best practice examples and practical support. 

The Digital First Learning and Development programme now sits in the NHS Digital Academy.
