CSW / HCSW Inpatients

The aim of this eLearning is to provide a CSW/HCSW with the skills and knowledge required to use MEDITECH to carry out their daily duties on an inpatient ward.  No prior knowledge of MEDITECH is required although basic IT skills are essential.

CSW workers will only complete the following topics: 

• Overview of PCS Status Board
• Overview of the Worklist and the Patients EMR
• Print a Wristband
• Add or Remove an Assessment
• Intentional Rounding
• Mattress order Process
• Edit Patient Details

Band 3 - HCSW will complete the above plus:

• Mattress Order
• Collecting Specimen
• Re-print Lab Label/ Wristband
• Add an Assessment (Intentional Rounding Assessment)
• Complete an Assessment (SSKIN Bundle- “Checklist part” the other part of the assessment is responsibility of the Nurse)
• Observations (Should only be doing Observations once signed off by Critical Care Outreach team)
• Note:  Observations (You should only be undertaking Observations once you have been signed off by the Critical Care Outreach team)
