Rapid Reads for professionals - Supporting safe, equitable care for people seeking asylum and other recent migrants

These Migrant Health Rapid Reads are short, practical resources (typically one to two pages) designed to support healthcare staff working with people seeking asylum and other recent migrants, and are intended to:

• support consistent, high‑quality practice across settings
• enable rapid access to key information at the point of need
• complement (not replace) statutory guidance, professional standards and local procedures

The rapid reads are for all staff involved in the delivery, coordination or commissioning of care.

The rapid reads can be used in two ways:

• As a complete reference set to support
  • service design and pathway development
  • commissioning and quality improvement
  • training and workforce development
  • development of local guidance and protocols
• As standalone point of need tools to be used when independently when a specific issue arises (for example, safeguarding concerns, age uncertainty, mental health needs, maternity care, or NHS entitlements).
