Supervision and mentoring
Supervision and mentoring are defined as a process of professional support and learning, undertaken through a range of activities. This enables individuals to develop knowledge and competence, assume responsibility for their own practice and enhance service-user protection, quality, and safety of care. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) considers supervision to be “an essential part of good professional practice by a range of different professional bodies. Supervision has been associated with higher levels of job satisfaction, improved retention, and staff effectiveness.” Here you will find links to a range of supervision and mentoring resources that you can review to support your understanding of supervision and mentoring and what you should be accessing to develop as a neonatal AHP.
