338 Peer to Peer Flu Vaccinator [e-learning]
This course is for trust staff who administer the flu vaccine to other trust staff.
This e-learning course provides leaners with the knowledge to confidently administer the flu vaccine to colleagues in the work-place. Learners also gain confidence in promoting the benefits of receiving the vaccine, both to the patient and those around them.
By the end of this course learners will be able to; Describe why the Influenza vaccine is important for Healthcare workers and promote the vaccine to colleagues Describe why the Influenza vaccine is important for Healthcare workers and promote the vaccine to colleagues, including responding to common concerns List the responsibilities of a peer vaccinator Describe the genetic makeup of the Flu virus and the two surface antigens H and N and their purpose in infecting an individual Provide evidence based information to allow staff to provide informed consent Describe the legal issues surrounding Immunisation use Follow instructions to prepare and organise all Flu vaccination equipment and documentation Describe what cold chain storage is and follow guidelines to maintain vaccine efficacy Describe the composition of a vaccine in order to manage allergies and any contraindications Describe what information should be recorded and where the information needs to be sent confidentially.
