Emotional support- Spinal Injuries Association factsheet
No two people respond the same emotionally following a spinal cord injury (SCI). Some can pick up the pieces and get on with life immediately, while others find this difficult. Some view the injury as yet another of life’s challenges to be overcome, and others feel overwhelmed by the impact. This factsheet, produced by Spinal Injuries Association, explains it’s important to remember that, just as there is no magic cure for a SCI, there is no instantaneous way of healing emotional pain and offers advice and signposting to avenues of support.
