AHP Pre-Registration Learner Retention Framework
This framework was created as a guide for integrated care systems (ICSs), education providers and organisations to promote activity that can be undertaken to improve AHP pre-registration learner retention.
The framework will help AHP leaders, practice education leads, and workforce leads to ensure that the right support is in place to support learners to complete their programmes and ensure that learners see the NHS as a good place to work.
It sets out the key themes of reasons AHP pre-registration learners are leaving mid-programme and provides a range of activities that can be undertaken. This is not an exhaustive list, nor a set of ‘must do’ actions, but designed to consider what to do next.
Next steps should therefore be reviewed, agreed, and prioritised by individual systems and organisations.
