- Be aware of the importance of insulin safety and understand common errors.
- Understand different types of insulin therapies, their mode of action, and how often they may need to be administered.
- Have gained an understanding of the need for correct injection technique.
- Understand the need for a full assessment to justify insulin dose adjustments.
- Be aware of the need to assess the persons' current diabetes therapies prior to adjusting insulin doses.
- Be able to describe how to adjust insulin doses when using specific insulin regimens.
- Understand the need for competency assessment when adjusting doses and recognise the need for accurate record-keeping.
