Quality Assurance of Models and Analysis
The Macpherson Review assessed quality assurance for all analytical models across Government. It made eight recommendations about the way that departments and arms-length bodies assure analysis, particularly their business critical models, and the review published the Aqua Book which outlines the principles for the quality assurance of models.
Our aim is to ensure there is a framework of assurance to manage and reduce the risk of error in our critical models. The recommendations relate to the culture and environment that we work in, as well as the processes we use for quality assurance.
This process is overseen by the Business Critical Models Oversight Group (BCMOG), formed on behalf of the Chief Data and Analytics Officer, with representation from across the analytical community within NHS England.
This training will introduce you to the principles behind model quality assurance, and take you through the process to ensure compliance with the business critical models policy.
