Business Admin Experience Programme
Yeovil District Hospital offers a scheduled programme of visits to a variety of environments within the Acute hospital setting where learners can spend time with staff within administrative andclerical roles. This provides them with an insight into the range of non-patient facing career possibilities, enablingdiscussion between staffand learners, with the benefit of being within the hospital environment. During discussion with staff, learners can find out about the varied study routes taken and how they may themselves study and work within their local NHS.These interactions will help learners to identify their future NHS role and commence their placement journey.
This scheduled programme provides the following benefits:
- Increased awareness amongst 16-24 year olds of the different non-patient facing roles within the health care environment
- Supports young people to make informed decisions about their career pathways
- Contributes to achievement of Gatsby Benchmarks by local education providers: “Encounters with employers & employees” and “Experiences of work places”.
- Contributes to experience of a hospital setting for employment and HE applications
- Provides insight into the different aspects of support provided within a multi-disciplinary team

A rotational workplace experience programme based on 5 days in a hospital environment shadowing a variety of staff within administrative and clerical roles.
