CHS: Safe Use of Insulin in Hospital (Diabetes Specialist)
Safe-Use-of-Insulin-in-Hospital – Essential training for all hospital-based staff supporting insulin-treated diabetes in an acute ward setting.
- To support all health and social care staff including GPs across the borough of Croydon to improve their diabetes skills, reduce variation in practice, promote safer patient care and to avoid attendances at emergency department, and support early discharge.
- To use CDEP topics as an action plan regarding diabetes related incidents reported via RADAR.
- For Healthcare Professionals to use the CDEP topics to increase their CPD hours towards their Revalidation and as a precursor to completing the Diabetes module via any University.
DIABETES SPECIALIST
Staff responsible for delivering the majority of diabetes care or for staff starting to specialise in supporting complex diabetes care e.g. practice nurse, GPs, dietitians, junior DSNs, diabetes link nurses, diabetes podiatrists / midwives / pharmacists, etc.
