377 MY Fraud Awareness
Anyone is capable of committing fraud against the NHS. The reasons for committing fraud are usually for personal greed, or for personal need. Whatever the reason, it is still fraud and it takes money away from patient care and services. This course will increase awareness of all NHS staff about fraud, how it is committed and what they can do to help prevent it. The objective of this course is to provide the learner with a clear understanding of the following: 1)What is fraud? 2)What is corruption? 3)Who commits NHS fraud? 4)How much of a problem is fraud? 5)What are common types of fraud? 6)How is NHS fraud punished? 7)What is the role of NHS Protect? 8)What is the role of your Local Counter Fraud Specialist? 9)What to do if you personally suspect fraud or corruption?
