Dietetic Support Worker Award: Enhancing Teaching Skills for the Delivery of Group Education
Dietetic Support Worker Award: Enhancing Teaching Skills for the Delivery of Group Education
This one-day course is a mix of theory and practice. It will consider why we need group education, the pros, and cons of the approach and a step-by-step approach to preparing a group education session. We will think about how people learn, the skills required to facilitate learning and some of the challenges we may face with participants. We will consider the service user perspective. There are many activities during the day to get you to think through how you would approach different aspects, and these will include whole group discussions, small group work and some individual reflection. You will leave having considered the group education you are involved in, how you work, and with ideas on the next steps to develop your skills further.
