Module 4. The kinder feedback approach
Helps everyone with the confidence to speak up. Explore the the Why, What and
How of feedback. Packed with evidence, powerful stories and interactive
exercises designed and tested to embed key learning points:
• ABC of appreciation: the structure of effective praise
• Introducing BUILD. Building bridges, building relationships, building trust
• De-escalating, by describing behaviours as facts
• The power of non-judgmental listening
• Coaching behaviour change, not ‘telling off’
• Speaking up in a range of situations: incivility, gossip, bullying, racism
• Receiving feedback: the GIFT of self-awareness

Module duration: Approx. 45 min
Module description: To feel safe to speak up we need to know how to speak up. In this
module, we introduce you to intentional praise to amplify kind behaviours and BUILD kinder
feedback to speak up when you need to.
Module objectives:
• Learn the foundations of great feedback
• Explore 2 simple models to support you in amplifying positive behaviours and calling
out unhelpful ones
• See how to use feedback to develop better relationships
