With this course you should be able to
- Understand the level of risk associated with infusion therapy and implications on professional practice
- Have an understanding of the different types of venous access devices, risks and complications
- State the importance of patient safety and implications on professional practice
- Identify those veins which are suitable and unsuitable for cannulation
- Select the appropriate cannula for use in a range of different clinical situations
