LSCIC Backrest selection Advice Sheet

This advice sheet was developed by London Spinal Cord Injury Centre Occupational Therapy Department to support identification of suitable wheelchair backrest options in relation to level of spinal cord injury.

It includes factors to consider in selecting a wheelchair backrest for a patient.
Backrest compatibility will vary from individual to individual. It is essential to continueto monitor for any changes in posture, skin integrity, comfort and function.
