350 Extended PPE

Not yet rated

You have been asked to be involved in learning how to use protective equipment, should you be asked to come into contact with suspected or actual cases of COVID-19.

For Extended PPE - Aerosol Generating Procedures (AGP)
Staff undertaking Aerosol generating procedures such as suctioning of open tracheostomies, high speed dental drilling, high flow oxygen therapy and induction of sputum will need an enhanced level of protection and will need to be fit tested for an FFP3 mask before undertaking any such procedures.

Videos in this package show:
How to put on (don) PPE correctly
How to remove (doff) PPE correctly and safely.
Including safe disposal of PPE to avoid cross contamination to the healthcare worker and environment.

These videos have been developed by Public Health England (PHE). Masks used as part of PPE vary between organisations, therefore additional FIT Mask training is provided should you require it.

This package should take 20-25 minutes to complete. There are two videos to watch and a self declaration to indicate you are comfortable to provide this service.
