Improving pre-registration midwifery learner capacity and utilisation, and promoting multi-disciplinary learning (MDT) amongst pre-registration students.
Resource details
At Liverpool Women’s Hospital student midwife capacity has been increased from 63 students to 132 over the course of 4 years. This has been possible due to the introduction of shift templates which utilise all 7 days and nights per week, and also the opening up of specialised areas within maternity on a rotation to learners. This resource explains how this was done and the benefits of the initiative.
