Processing Emotions in Autistic People

A training video that can be used to train Autism Peer Support Workers, explaining how processing emotions can presently differently within an autistic person. Processing and understanding of the worlddifferand someautistic peopleexperience Alexithymia, which is apersonality trait characterised by the inability to identify and describe emotions experienced by oneself. Intense feelings that are not recognised by the individualwhether through understanding, language and/or recognition of emotions is challenging, along withprocessing more than one emotion at a time. Individuals who aresocially anxiousmay need to time alone to processemotions andthat can impacton relationships.
