Introduction to Project Management
This session should take approximately 30 - 45 minutes to work through. Ensure that you read the information carefully as there are various exercises to help consolidate your learning throughout.
Learning Outcomes
Rather than a guide to specific project management methodologies, such as PRINCE 2 or Agile, this training module is aimed at those who want to learn more about working on projects and gives an insight into the general principles and techniques of project management.
As you work through the module you will gain a better understanding of the following areas:
- Common terms used within project management and what they mean.
- What is meant by a ‘project' and how projects are organised.
- The different roles to be found in a typical project team.
- An overview of the project lifecycle.
- The processes and techniques involved in managing a project.
- Where to find further resources to help you.
