Following this module, you should:

  • Be able to demonstrate an awareness of the 'normal swallow' process
  • Be able to identify signs or symptoms which indicate potential eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties (Dysphagia)
  • Have an awareness of the impacts of eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties for the individual and their carers
  • Be able to signpost someone who may require support with their eating, drinking and swallowing
  • Have an awareness of safer eating guidelines.
