This module summarises the enhanced infection control procedures nessecary to safely house a patient with suspected HCID, in order to prevent onward transmission in the hospital environment. Learning Objectives
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to:
- Describe how the most common HCID are transmitted
- Describe the key enhanced infection control procedures recommended for HCID including ward zoning, management of spills, waste and decontamination
- Know where to find detailed information on infection control recommendations for airborne and contact HCID.
