Reproductive Science - Clinical Embryology images of human preimplantation embryos - blastocyst almost fully hatched

Hatching human blastocyst at 118 hours post insemination.

The trophectoderm is fully expanded and hatching out of the zona pellucida between the 12 o'clock and 2 o'clock positions. The process of hatching should complete in the next hour or two. One transferred to the uterus, the blasocyst then needs to implant into the endometrial lining.

The inner cell mass can be seen at the 6 o'clock position.
