The NHS Constitution for England is a set of values and principles that are common to everyone involved with the NHS - from the staff working for the NHS to the communities and individuals served by the NHS. The Constitution also includes the rights and responsibilities of both patients and staff. Its existence ensures that the NHS runs smoothly and works fairly for all.
