Rotational Healthcare Experience Programme Timetable [PDF]
Providing a scheduled programme of visits to a variety of patient facing environments within an Acute hospital setting, this Programme enables learners to gain an insight into a range of career possibilities and to have discussions with staff, patients and other students on placement. The rotational format allows for a variety of environments to be accessed and develop understanding of the multi-disciplinary relationships involved with the care of patients.
The benefits of the programme include:
• Increased awareness of the different roles within the health care environment
• Access for 16-24 year olds to the work environment and professionals in practice
• Helping young people to make informed decisions about their career pathways
• Supporting local education provides with achievement of their Gatsby Benchmark standards: “Encounters with employers & employees” and “Experiences of work places”.
• Increased understanding of how many different hospital roles work within a hospital.

A 5-day rotational programme designed to provide a varied work place experience to students aged 16 and above who are interested in a career in medicine, nursing or another patient-facing profession.
