This elearning session is designed to support healthcare practitioners in developing the skills and confidence needed to perform accurate drug calculations for intravenous (IV) therapy. Aimed at those administering IV medications to adult, paediatric and neonatal patients, the session covers essential competencies including unit conversions, dose and infusion rate calculations, and interpreting prescriptions. Learners will be able to convert between units and concentrations, calculate doses from ratio or percentage solutions, determine infusion rates for gravity and infusion devices, and apply weight-based dosing principles, all while understanding the importance of accuracy to prevent medication errors.
