This elearning session guides healthcare professionals through the safe and effective administration of intravenous (IV) medicines, from prescription to post-administration care. Aimed at clinical staff involved in IV therapy, it covers planning, preparation, compatibility, dilution, reconstitution, displacement, labelling, administration routes and flushing techniques. Learners will be able to describe key concepts such as fluid compatibility, precipitation, aseptic technique and the rationale for diluent selection, while applying these principles to ensure accurate and safe patient care.
