This elearning session supports healthcare professionals in understanding the psychological impact of thalassaemia across the lifespan.

It enables learners to recognise how emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, stigma and identity struggles affect wellbeing, coping and treatment adherence, and to apply psychologically informed communication strategies that promote resilience and engagement.

Targeted at all healthcare professionals involved in the care of people with thalassaemia, the session also explores the influence of family, culture and early intervention on long‑term outcomes and encourages practitioners to support identity, independence and wellbeing beyond the condition.
