Keyworking for children and young people with a learning disability, and autistic children and young people

This eLearning programme supports NHS England in delivering Keyworking services for children and young people with a learning disability, and autistic children and young people. It has been developed to help Keyworking sites across England understand the core principles of Keyworking and apply them in a consistent way. The programme consists of five eLearning sessions

 

Intended audience 

This programme is for professionals working in Keyworking services, including: 

  • Newly appointed Keyworkers 

  • Keyworkers working with children and young people with a learning disability 

  • Keyworkers supporting autistic children and young people 

  • Staff involved in local or national Keyworking services

Learning objectives 

By the end of this programme, learners will be able to: 

  • Understand the core principles of Keyworking 

  • Support children and young people who are at risk of admission to, or are currently in, a mental health hospital 

  • Provide effective support to families, carers and wider networks 

  • Apply a consistent approach to Keyworking across different settings 

  • Use learning to guide their practice as Keyworking services continue to develop
