Greener NHS
Climate change is no longer a distant threat but is already affecting the health and wellbeing of patients and communities across the country. To fulfil its purpose of improving health now and for future generations, the NHS must address climate change at its source, which is why it became the world’s first health system to commit to reaching net zero emissions. All NHS staff will play a vital role in achieving this goal; improving health, saving money, and reducing environmental damage, with 9 in 10 staff already supportive of decarbonising the NHS.
This catalogue brings together a variety of education and training at the intersection of climate and health. Our aim is to ensure that there is training available for all, whatever your role and wherever you may be on your sustainability journey. To help you navigate the catalogue, available training has been categorised into ‘introductory’, ‘intermediate’ and ‘leadership’ sections.
The catalogue also sets out the core knowledge, skills and behaviours that all NHS staff need to contribute to the NHS net zero ambition. Please go to the ‘Core concepts for all NHS staff’ to learn more.
